Terms and Conditions

Designing bespoke Jewellery or Remodelling your existing jewellery is an exciting process but it’s very important to be clear about the process. Please read these terms and conditions carefully and if you have any questions please email or call me.

The design process starts with a free consultation about what you’d like making, the gemstones, metals, any other materials, timescales and budget will be discussed. Sketch drawings and a quote will then be produced. Consultations may be held in the form of a face to face appointment, email, WhatsApp, telephone call, zoom or teams.

If you’d like to redesign the jewellery or change materials, now is the time to do it.

Once you are happy with the design and quote we require £150 – £200 (non refundable) for the “life like” CAD drawings, from which the jewellery will be made. Once we receive the payment the CAD drawing will be commenced..

Payment is understood to mean that you are happy with the design and for the CAD drawing to be
done.

Once the CAD drawing is back there is another chance to redesign or change materials. If another CAD drawing is required there is a charge of £50.

Bespoke Jewellery Design

Once you are happy with the design I require written confirmation to go ahead with making the jewellery and a deposit of 50% of the quoted figure. On receipt of the payment we will commence. The 50% payment is also understood to mean that the balance will be paid when the jewellery is completed and that you have read, understood and agreed with these terms and conditions.

If no written confirmation is given, payment is understood to mean that you are happy with the design and for the jewellery to be made.

Upon completion you will receive a video or image if you so wish. As you are aware we are unable to change the design once production has commenced.

I will then send an electronic invoice for the outstanding balance. Once paid, your new jewellery will be sent to you via Royal Mail Special delivery or you can arrange for pick up in person.

If you find a fault in the jewellery upon receipt, please inform me immediately and I will repair the product free of charge. No refunds or compensation will be issued. I will not pay for the item to be taken elsewhere for repair

Remodelling Jewellery Design

If we are remodelling your existing jewellery and you agree on the design and quote, you should send your jewellery to me in appropriate packaging with correct insurance. Alternatively, you may visit in person to present your jewellery.

Take a photograph of your jewellery and forward that to me before sending it via Royal Mail special delivery. Please insure your jewellery for the appropriate amount when asked for its value at the Post Office.

When I receive your jewellery, I will check the pieces received and send you a photograph of the pieces via whatever means of communication we have been using, to show you what has been received. You should notify me immediately if there is any discrepancy between what you have sent and what you see in the image. No comment will mean that you are content with what has been shown in the image. An electronic invoice for these items will also be sent to you via email.

Once you are happy with the design I require written confirmation to go ahead with making the jewellery and a deposit of 50% of the quoted figure. On receipt of the payment I will commence. The 50% payment is also understood to mean that the balance will be paid when the jewellery is completed and that you have read, understood and agreed with these terms and conditions.

Payment will indicate you are happy for the redesign process to commence. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable and that jewellery will not be made until the deposit has been received.

It will take approximately eight weeks for your jewellery to be finished, I will update you on progress throughout.

If there are any delays I will inform you as soon as possible and offer an alternative timescale.

Upon completion you will receive a video or image. As you are aware we are unable to change the design once production has commenced.

Following completion your jewellery will be sent to the Birmingham Assay Office for hallmarking. I can only redesign jewellery sent by the client that has a visible precious metal hallmark and I am not responsible for the standard of hallmark applied by the Assay Office.

From experience, only UK hallmarks guarantee the standard of the metal and stamps added in other countries (eg. 9kt, 10kt etc) can often be incorrect.

If a lower carat weight is found in the jewellery or some metal of a lesser carat weight is added, the Assay office will mark your piece to the lower carat weight. I will have spoken to you about this prior to your agreement to continue with the redesign.

By using your existing jewellery metal to make the new piece, I cannot guarantee the final colour, carat weight, colour match or usability of the materials provided and used.

Once your piece has been returned by the Assay Office, you will receive an electronic invoice for the outstanding balance. Once paid, your new jewellery will be returned to you via Royal Mail Special delivery or you can arrange for pick up in person.

If you find a fault in the jewellery upon receipt, please inform me immediately and I will repair the product free of charge. No refunds or compensation will be issued. I will not pay for the item to be taken elsewhere for repair.

Any redesigned rings will be sized in accordance with your instructions, if you would like me to send a sizing tool to you please let me know. If your new rings needs resizing, I am able to do this once at no extra cost, if notified within fourteen days of receipt.

Upon completion of your redesigned piece any gemstones and metal from your original pieces not used in the new design, will be returned to you.

Please note that the weight of the metal you send for redesign will not correspond to the weight of the pieces you receive back as an amount metal is lost through filing and polishing.

If you agree to these terms and conditions, the next step is to arrange a free consultation with me
